We are here as a result of Hurricane Katrina. With a very strong and rich New Orleanian culture Nureka has been serving wonderful meals since 1998 to various New Orleans residents and businesses. She was often called upon to cater food for many events throughout the Big Easy.  She catered fro all types of events & parties.

Nureka's Taste of New Orleans was started in 2005 @ 630 West Little York in Houston, Texas.

We began catering events and delivering food to local businesses in the Humble Area.

 Nureka recently took home a trophy for her "award winning GUMBO" after joining the annual cookoff sponsored by Atascocita High School here in Humble. 

Nureka's Taste of New Orleans #1 Grand Opening was held August 6, 2010. On January 20, 2013 Nureka closed the doors at the Humble location located @ 802 1st St. #300-J. Although, the storefront closed the company will continue it's many other services such as: Daily Lunch Delivery to area Residents & Businesses,Event Catering, Personal Chef Services, Cooking Classes and much more!

The next adventure will be NuReka's Jazz Bar & Restaurant. Location TBA

"when Life hands you Lemons you make the sweetest  Lemonade" or in our case we use em to make our Signature Katrina Punch!

Who We Are

We are from New Orleans, Louisiana and are now Texas Residents residing in Humble, Texas. We are owned and operated by New Orleans' Native Nureka Chapman- Henderson.

WE are members of the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce. Nureka is also a Board Member of The Blessings in The Sky Foundation of Atlanta, Georgia. We are also members of Houston's Area Event Vendors Association.

Nureka recieved an invitation to answer questions sent in to the local Observer Newspaper on topics relative to food, cooking etc.

We are also proud sponsors of many local community groups efforts. We have recently become a sponsor of The Glass Slipper Foundation in Houston, Texas
